Sasha can live without suffering

      For four months, Sasha developed like a normal child – he could hold his head up and roll over. Then he ended up in intensive care with a high temperature and convulsions. The fight for the baby's life, his treatment and rehabilitation began. In 2023, Alexander was diagnosed with a rare degenerative disease of the central nervous system: leukodystrophy. 
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the charity aid operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated August 31, 2020, and supplementary agreement No. 21. 330 dated August 12, 2025, the project “Sashko Can Live Without Suffering” was posted on the website of the charitable organization International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” - dobro.ua - with the aim of attracting donations to pay for the treatment of Oleksandr Zadreiko. 
      During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (UCE) – dobro.ua – to purchase food, consumables, and hygiene products for the boy. Therefore, according to letter No. 423 dated 19.08.2025, we received the collected amount of UAH 34,120.00 (thirty-four thousand one hundred and twenty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued the collection on the dobro.ua platform. Another 83,900.00 UAH (eighty-three thousand nine hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) was credited to the Fund's account according to letter No. 559 dated October 27, 2025.
      In August of this year, we purchased and delivered medicines and consumables for Oleksandr for a total amount of 7,577.10 UAH (seven thousand five hundred seventy-seven hryvnias, 10 kopecks), and in September, we purchased food, consumables, and hygiene products worth UAH 26,542.90 (twenty-six thousand five hundred forty-two hryvnias, 90 kopecks). In October and November, we also supported the family with a total of 13,455.18 UAH (thirteen thousand four hundred fifty-five hryvnias, 18 kopecks).
      Sashko's health remains serious. The boy is now at home, but he spent more than a month in the hospital due to a significant accumulation of phlegm in his lungs, which could not be removed on his own. During this time, he lost more than 10 kilograms of weight. Currently, his condition is stable but complicated. For now, he is being fed exclusively through IV drips. Some of the necessary medications are provided by the state, but there are medications that have to be purchased abroad.
      Sashko's mother is constantly by her son's side. She is very worried about him, and due to stress and worry, she has also lost a noticeable amount of weight. She sincerely thanks everyone for the support and care that both Sashko and she herself receive.
      We plan to use the remaining unused funds in the amount of UAH 70,444.82 (seventy thousand four hundred forty-four hryvnias, 82 kopecks) for Sasha's needs in 2026; the project is still raising funds.
