Transport for urgent care of the elderly

UPD: within this project, we have started fundraising for a truck, through which we planned to quickly deliver essentials to our elderly wards in need of support. Due to the lack of active fundraising and the urgent need for a car, one of the organization's volunteers sold her own car and bought a 1.2-ton bus. Now it helps to deliver the most necessary things to our elderly wards. However, the car currently needs an overhaul of the engine. Without it, it is impossible to deliver help.

During the war, one of the most vulnerable parts of Ukraine's population - lonely sick elderly people - became even more vulnerable. Constant fear and anxiety were added to severe ailments and loneliness. Now they need our help like no other.

Despite the brutal war, our organization continues to help lonely elderly people. Many of them cannot move independently and need constant outside help. In total, our foundation cares for more than 15,000 elderly people, about 10,000 of whom live in geriatric boarding houses and territorial social protection centers with inpatient departments.

Currently, we are actively working in 10 regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odesa. In the near future, we plan to take care of institutions for the elderly in three more regions - Vinnytsia Kherson and Volyn. Every month, we deliver food, medicine, personal hygiene products, wheelchairs, household items and even furniture to old women. Our help can save more than one life, so you need to act quickly.

That is why we really needed our own transport. And our most devoted volunteer sold her own car and bought a 1.2-ton Renault Traffic bus. Now we are able to deliver help to our wards, at any time and day. Which we do with success. A car for a volunteer is our everything! We spend most of the working day there, loading, transporting, unloading, passing any obstacles. Maria bought the car with her own funds, and the volunteer also carried out all work on the running gear, replacement of gaskets, oil seals, filters and other important parts on her own. However, after covering hundreds of kilometers, carrying tons of humanitarian aid every time, our car needs major engine repair and other critical work, and there is no money left for expensive work. 

We have partners who help with humanitarian aid, food, diapers, medical equipment and more. But without a car, we will not be able to deliver all this on time and where it is needed.
