The hard Veronika’s way. 2
“Your child has a congenital anomaly of the central nervous system and spine,” the expectant mother heard when she was 7 months pregnant. Childbirth began at 38 weeks, the newborn girl was immediately taken to the intensive care unit of the capital "OHMATDYT". The daughter was named Veronika, and after a thorough examination, her earlier diagnosis of “multiple malformations of the central nervous system and spine” was confirmed, and another one was added: hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation (grade 2).
There was no time to waste, so the next day the doctors performed an operation on Veronika's spinal cord (eliminating its pathological fixation), and a few days later eliminated hydrocephalus. Subsequently, when the girl was 7 months old, she underwent a new brain surgery, and in January 2020, a shunt was installed to remove excess fluid from the brain.
Now Veronika is 2 years old, and, in addition to malformations of the spine and the central nervous system, she suffers from symptomatic epilepsy, lower paraperesis, severe hydrocephalus, deformity of the feet and partial atrophy of the optic nerve. Not every adult can cope with such a list of diseases, and this little girl overcomes a difficult path to recovery every day. Step by step.
Fortunately, treatment is helping to improve Veronika's condition. During the last course of rehabilitation, the girl began to show very good results in physical, psychomotor and speech development. She has improved understanding of the speech that is being addressed and is better at following doctors' instructions. The progress is very noticeable, and therefore it is impossible to stop rehabilitation now.
Friends, you have already helped Veronika with treatment, support her again! The girl is waiting for a new course of rehabilitation, and the family has no money for it. Help Veronica get into a rehabilitation center and take a new step towards a healthy childhood!
