Virtuoso dreams of living without pain

      Andriy has a rare genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and his health is deteriorating every day. Geneticists and immunologists are certain that there is an underlying pathology. The boy needs to undergo an in-depth examination at the Vitalab laboratory center.
       In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the charity operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated August 31, 2020, and supplementary agreement No. 21. 296 dated January 22, 2025, the project “Virtuoso Dreams of Living Without Pain” was posted on the website of the charitable organization ICF “UBB” - dobro.ua - with the aim of attracting donations to pay for the treatment of Andriy Mayorov. 
      When the entire amount needed to pay for Andriy's treatment was collected on two information platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the Pomagaem Charitable Foundation, we contacted the laboratory for an up-to-date invoice. However, it turned out that the funds were insufficient due to a significant increase in the cost of the examination. We made considerable efforts to find a donor who would help to close this collection faster, and also asked the laboratory to provide a discount, but even taking this into account, the amount was still incomplete.
       Therefore, according to letter No. 504 dated September 30, 2025, we contacted our regular partners, the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation, with a request to allocate UAH 8,500.00 (eight thousand five hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks), close the fundraiser, reduce the project amount on the Ukrainian Charity Exchange to the actual amount raised—93,088.00 UAH (ninety-three thousand eighty-eight hryvnias, 00 kopecks)—and transfer the funds to our current account to pay for the boy's treatment and project administration.
      The young man recently underwent a fresh magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in Kyiv, which showed significant deterioration. Andriy needs to follow a strict diet aimed at reducing ammonia levels in the brain and normalizing amino acids. The young man is gradually getting used to the new diet. In addition, he needs to purchase and take certain medications, including vitamins and dietary supplements. There is a chance to improve brain activity and influence cognitive functions and behavior. However, there are no clear predictions from doctors at this time. At the same time, tests show active muscle tissue breakdown. Now we need to find an experienced geneticist who can correctly interpret the genetic test results.
      Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
