Save the little angel. 2

There are texts that are particularly difficult to write. They usually contain the words "blasts" and "relapse." These are stories about new stages of struggle with a terrible disease, which, it would seem, is long gone. It is very painful that you have to write such a text about the two-year-old Matvii Bilyi, whom we already helped 2 years ago: the boy was given a bone marrow transplantation in Belarus. However, in May of this year, the baby had a relapse...

For 14 years, Catherine and Eugene went to their dream of becoming parents. The most modern treatment did not help, in the end, they decided to adopt a baby. Only in the second year of the search, the spouses were informed about the possibility of becoming the parents of a two-month-old boy. They filed an adoption and took the son home. 

Their family happiness lasted 4 months, and then tiny bruises began to appear on the child's skin. Passed a blood test - and Matveyka was immediately hospitalized to the Dnipro Regional Children's Hospital. The diagnosis plunged parents into shock: acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It was later clarified: bilinear leukemia. It soon became clear that the boy was in need of a bone marrow transplant. Unrelated transplantation is not performed in Ukraine. Parents opened a charity collection and went to Belarus for treatment.

The collection was opened, including in the Foundation "Pomogaem" and on ubb.org.ua. UAH 1 125 781 we collected, of which UAH 910 860 was credited to the Belarusian clinic for preparation for transplantation and recovery after it. Immediately transplantation paid MOZ. It was a long and difficult journey, but the transplantation was carried out, it was successful in early 2018, and after a few months, Matveyka returned to Ukraine in remission. Finally, it was possible to exhale and be a little bit, ordinary happy family.

But in May 2019, Matvey's analyzes turned out to be unstable. They donated blood several times in a row: the platelets either fell or rose sharply. Just in case, we decided to take a bone marrow puncture. The result was shocking: 52% of blasts, cancer cells. After 2 days, Matvey and his mother were already in Minsk, where they diagnosed a relapse on the lymphoblastic type. Matvii needs a second transplant. The Belarusian Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology has invoiced $ 150,000 for TCM, preparation and rehabilitation. The first payment for treatment has already been made from the balance of funds in Matveyka’s account. At 125,000 dollars we opened a new collection. At ubb.org.ua, we collect part of the funds – UAH 300 000.

Two years of life gave Matvii tens of thousands of people who took part in his fate. More than anything, I want the boy to live many, many more happy years. But every day spent with your beloved dad and mom, every day when a baby smiles and learns the world around us is invaluable. Let’s come back to help Matthew and do everything in his power for him!
