From the very beginning of her life, Milana has been on a long and difficult journey of treatment, examinations, and rehabilitation. After being discharged from the maternity hospital, the girl began experiencing serious problems: constant vomiting, weight loss, and intense crying. For a long time, doctors looked for the cause in digestive issues, but the real reason was only discovered much later.
At 6 months, Milana's condition deteriorated sharply: she developed weakness, stopped holding her head up, and kept her hands clenched in fists. After numerous examinations in hospitals, she was given complex diagnoses – central nervous system damage and epileptic syndrome. Genetic testing later confirmed a rare condition: Angelman syndrome. Thanks to consistent sessions, massages, and therapies, she began walking with assistance at the age of 4, and at 5 took her first independent steps.
Milana is now almost 11 years old. She does not speak – she can only say the word "mama" – but she understands speech directed at her. She walks independently, though she has coordination difficulties and a hip joint condition. She takes anti-epileptic medication on an ongoing basis and requires regular sessions with a speech therapist and psychologist, as well as massages and rehabilitation.
Milana is raised by her mother. Her father passed away when she was just one year old, leaving her mother alone with two children. Her mother works to cover the cost of her daughter's treatment, and her grandmother helps care for Milana.
Rehabilitation, medication, and specialist sessions are a constant necessity for Milana – they are what helps her continue to develop and maintain the progress she has already made. Managing these costs on their own is very difficult for the family, which is why they are reaching out for help with medication.
Please support Milana so she can keep developing and hold on to everything she has worked so hard to achieve.
