Many of their body functions are still immature. If a child weighs up to 1500 grams at birth, in the first months of life he is faced with many problems of the pulmonary, cardiovascular, nervous and digestive systems. Every life saved by such a baby is priceless! That is why for 6 years in a row our partner, benefactor and socially responsible leasing company "ESKA Capital" refuses corporate gifts and gives a Christmas miracle to children in need of urgent treatment. Channeling funds for corporate gifts is a social initiative of a powerful leasing company that has been helping micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine to grow for more than 13 years. The ESKA Capital team decided to again send assistance to save the lives of prematurely born children and to purchase critical medical equipment for the Kiev Regional Children's Hospital in Boyarka. Only a year later, 155 newborns pass through the intensive care unit of this hospital, of which 100% require intensive care. These are prematurely born children and children with severe perinatal pathology, which require long-term respiratory therapy, infusion therapy, continuous monitoring of vital functions.Among children treated in 2020, 54% are newborns with a body weight of <2000 g, among which almost a third of patients are with extremely low and very low birth weight, who need specialized intensive care and therapy.

A prematurely born child needs constant monitoring by doctors, control and maintenance of the vital functions of a developing organism - breathing and heartbeat. There are many pathologies, the development of which is accompanied by a chronic lack of oxygen in the child's blood. It is to detect oxygen starvation and control the heartbeat of small patients that the pulse oximeter is intended. In case of critical cases, a warning system is installed in the device. Also, within the framework of the project, pulse oximetry sensors will be purchased.
80% of premature babies, especially those weighing less than 1500 grams, have jaundice. This can only be prevented by exchange transfusion (the child's blood is completely replaced with the donor's blood), but such treatment is risky. For effective and non-aggressive treatment, there is a special phototherapy lamp, its rays have a certain wavelength and convert "harmful" bilirubin into a form that is easily excreted from the body, that is, the phototherapy lamp performs the function of a mature liver.

A laryngoscope is a medical device (a type of endoscope) used to examine the larynx. The laryngoscope is designed to facilitate rapid visualization of the larynx without the need to align the pharyngeal and laryngeal axes.In addition to simple and quick patient intubation in difficult cases, it also simplifies manipulation and completely eliminates the risk of trauma during routine intubation of patients with normal airways.

Also important in nursing is the method of infusion therapy. Carrying out such therapy for prematurely born children is possible only with the help of special devices - infusion pumps (infusomats) that deliver fluid for intravenous nutrition at a precisely calculated rate and protect the cerebral vessels from fluid overload. The pump is designed to deliver medication with high precision at both high and low infusion rates. The pump has a monitoring and alarm system and a built-in battery. All this ensures the continuous operation of the pump during the transportation of the patient or when the power supply is cut off, and also monitors the correct operation of the pump, triggers an audible alarm, identifying its cause.
