Kamilla is a very cheerful, kind, and caring girl. She attends additional English language classes and enjoys drawing and making salt dough crafts. She loves baking, so she independently searches for recipes and makes all kinds of treats.

A year ago the girl was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. From that moment on, her life changed in an instant.

Kamilla is active and sociable, loves swimming, rollerblading, and cycling with friends. But such activity often leads to a rapid drop in blood sugar. The girl does not always feel dangerously low blood sugar, which is why continuous monitoring is her lifeline. Sensors send notifications to a phone, making it possible to prevent critically low blood sugar and dangerous episodes. What's more, a sensor does not require constant finger pricks unlike a glucometer. There were times when there was nowhere left to prick, as a glucometer requires up to fifteen pricks per day.

At 10 years old, the girl lives with the hope that in the future a solution will be found to make life a little easier for all children with diabetes. But for now she needs support to be able to manage her condition and simply remain a child – active, happy, and free in her dreams.
